Julie-Ann Russell (born 28 March 1991) is an Irish footballer who plays for the Irish women's national team and Women's National League club UCD Waves. Julie-Ann, a winger or forward, is the sister of Sligo Rovers midfielder John Russell. ==Club career== Russell began her soccer career with Salthill Devon, and scored an extra–time winner in the 2007 Under 16 FAI Cup final. The following week Russell helped Galway Ladies (a regional select team) win the FAI Senior Women's Cup final. The victory ensured that Galway and Russell qualified for the 2008–09 UEFA Women's Cup.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Julie Ann Russell )〕 In 2010 Russell featured as Salthill Devon played in the FAI Cup final, but were defeated 4–2 by Peamount United. While attending the University of Limerick, she also played intravarsity soccer and futsal. In the sport of gaelic football, Russell represented Galway and Connacht. Russell signed a contract with American W-League club Los Angeles Strikers in April 2011. She combined playing with an off–field role, fulfilling the work placement element of her marketing degree at the University of Limerick.
